After the untiring efforts of over one and a half years, the EPC General Contract for building the Beer Plant by UREC in Hai Duong Province of Vietnam was finally signed in Hanoi on February 20, 2009

The Economic Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the supreme leaders of both UREC and the owner all attended the magnificent signing ceremony. At the ceremony, UREC was greatly praised by the owner for its professionalism and strong ability of project administration as the general contractor of overseas projects and integrating supplier of all kinds of systematic resources. Conference and best wishes were also expressed for the bright future of the project.

The beer plant is located in Dai An Industrial District of Hai Duong Province 80 kilometers to the east of Hanoi, the designed annual output of which is 100 thousand tons in the first phase and shall be enlarged to 200 thousand tons in the second building phase. UREC has been under the observation and inspection of the owner since July 2007 when first touching the project. After mutual visits and communications for many times, the owner finally recognize the techniques, experience and reputation of UREC and appoint it as the general contractor on EPC basis not only supplying the complete sets of equipment but also carrying out the civil construction of the project.  Both parties signed a Letter of Intent for Contract in September. In the next one year of project preparation, the owner had paid several visits to China for deep exchange of ideas with both the designing institute and the equipment manufacturers. When all the technical requirements of the owner had been clearly understood, a detailed Technical Agreement was signed in May 2008. Under the condition that the project had been regarded as one of the key projects supported by both Chinese and Vietnamese governments, the Contractual Frame Agreement was signed in Beijing at the Sino-Vietnam Enterprises’ Forum on October 23, 2008 with the witness of Premier of Vietnam and Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Afterwards, the EPC General Contract was finally signed on the basis of earnest, detailed and hard discussion between each other for about half a year.     Win of the project indicates the success of UREC achieved by exerting its advantages in the exploitation of Vietnamese markets. This project has helped UREC to establish its first EPC General Contract in Vietnam while UREC has become the first Chinese enterprise contracting the Beer Plant in Vietnam.
